Benefits
If you are a TABLETOP Student Volunteer, you get...
  • Free workshop registration
  • Subsidised housing
  • Subsidised food
  • A travel allowance
  • A chance to attend the premier forum for innovations in Tabletop interfaces
The specific allocations for each of the above will be announced once funding is secured, but we hope to offer free registration, two free nights of hotel stay, $100 food allowance, and a maximum of $300 to subsidize travel costs. Specific details will be announced as soon as they are available.

Expectations
Student volunteers will be required to help set up and perform needed work during the workshop. Duties include: bag stuffing, registration desk, AV assistance, poster and demo setup, badge checking, break monitoring, etc. Volunteers will also need to be available during the workshop if tasks come up. Because Tabletop is single track, SVs usually get to attend most of the sessions, even when working. There will be approximately 15 scheduled hours per SV.

Arriving and Leaving
SVs need to be available to help throughout the workshop. You should try to arrive at least a couple hours before the start of the workshop on Wednesday and should not leave the hotel until sessions end on Friday. Also, we strongly encourage you to put off leaving until as late as you possibly can, because it's traditional to have a small party for student volunteers after the workshop (or occasionally during the workshop) if funds allow. If we are able to have this party, the time and place will be announced when we know all the student volunteers' travel plans.

Work Schedules
Most work will be arranged and scheduled by the SV chairs, but is designed to evenly share work and to maximize the amount of time each SV can spend at the workshop.

If you have any questions/problems, please send email to Mark Hancock.
